New Board Member: Amy Chronis
A highly respected business and civic leader, Amy most recently retired from Deloitte after a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years including service as Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Houston practice, Vice Chair, and U.S. Oil, Gas & Chemicals Leader. Throughout her career, she advised public and private enterprises ranging from emerging businesses to Fortune 500 companies and served as lead relationship partner for several of the world's largest energy companies.
Amy has long been a champion of literacy and a valued supporter of the Foundation's work. During her tenure at Deloitte, she was instrumental in authorizing pro bono expertise from professionals across the firm to help develop Houston's Literacy Crisis: A Blueprint for Community Success. She also supported numerous other catalytic initiatives that strengthened the Foundation's ability to advance literacy outcomes and serve the community. Amy and her husband John have served Celebration of Reading Host Committee, and Amy is a lifetime member of the Ladies for Literacy Guild.
An avid reader and passionate advocate for literacy, Amy brings both personal commitment and professional expertise to her Board service. She currently serves as a Trustee of The Ohio State University and remains actively engaged in civic leadership as the past Chair of the Greater Houston Partnership, where she continues to serve on the Board. Her additional community involvement includes leadership roles with United Way of Greater Houston, Texas 2036, and the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation.
A Certified Public Accountant, Amy earned her bachelor's degree in international studies and accounting from The Ohio State University and completed executive studies at Columbia University Business School. Her many honors include recognition among the Houston Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business, induction into the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and selection as a recipient of the Houston Business Journal's Most Admired CEO Award.

Her strategic insight, leadership experience, and deep commitment to strengthening our community will be invaluable as we continue advancing Barbara Bush's vision of literacy for all.
