We took a journey “Around the World with Madeline” on Friday, November 10th at Minute Maid Park’s Union Station for the 8th Annual Storybook Gala. This “party with a purpose” was hosted by the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Young Professionals Group, with proceeds supporting high-quality childhood literacy programs for underserved children across Houston.

Childhood Literacy Impact Award

We are proud and excited to honor Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with the 2023 Childhood Literacy Impact Award during the Storybook Gala. For the past decade, HLSR has made an extraordinary, unwavering commitment to empowering underserved children across Houston with access to high-quality programs and resources they need to become strong readers. Initiatives such as Reading Roundup, Read Houston Read, and the Curiosity Cruisers are just a few examples of what has been made possible with support from HLSR.
