Young Professionals Group
Our Young Professionals Group (YPG) is a member-based organization comprised of more than 125 community-minded individuals who are committed to Read. Lead. Serve. the next generation. Through service and social events and signature literacy initiatives, such as Barbara’s Book Boxes, they are building a cross-sector volunteer network to bridge the gap in access to resources in high-need schools and neighborhoods.

Meet Nate Church
Nate Church, Chair of the Young Professionals Group (YPG), has been a dedicated member for over three years. His involvement began at a Young Professionals networking event, where he discovered the chance to volunteer for a literacy foundation. Nate's journey with YPG took off when he attended his first Tacky Sweater Party later that year.
Nate has not only embraced his love for reading and education, but he has also given back to the community. His involvement in the summer program Camp Adventure stands out, where he and fellow YPG members assisted elementary students in creating magnetic slime and digging for fossils.

I am excited anytime I get to work with the YPG group, have consistently had my expectations exceeded by this group, and encourage any young professional in Houston that is considering volunteer work to come join us."
