Phillips 66 Gift to Expand Literacy Program Access

We are delighted to announce that thanks to a grant Phillips 66 made in honor of our 10th anniversary, more children and families have access to research-backed literacy programs and resources. Specifically, the gift from Phillips 66 does the following:

  • Expands family and early literacy programs through Family Place Libraries™ at Jungman, Stimely Blue-Ridge and Spring Branch Memorial branch libraries in partnership with Houston Public Library and Harris County Public Library;

  • Equips thousands of underserved children with books through our My Home Library program;

  • Increases the number of UH Cougar Reading Tutors placed in high-need elementary schools in partnership with the UH Advancing Community Engagement Services (ACES) Institute;

  • Boosts Read & Rise family literacy programs in partnership with Houston Area Urban League;

  • AND MORE!
